Red parrot in Sydney, Australia (1 Viewer)

I spotted this one in the suburbs of Sydney a few days ago. Could you help me identify? Thanks.

This guy could well be a male Australian King Parrot - it is hard to tell as the back markings arern'e visible - they should be a dark green with lighter green patches on them? Look in the Opus under Australian King Parrot.

Looks like it might be a Red Lory Eos bornea. It's not a native Australian parrot at any rate. Fancy bird though, wow! :eek!:

Youbetcha. I was only having a stab in the dark - the beak didn't look right for a King.
