Owl's anywhere in essex? (1 Viewer)

Had a Barn Owl at Old hall marshes on Sunday, albeit from about 3/4 mile away in the scope
There are usually a couple of short eared owls around Rainham Marsh this time of year but this winter they are few and far between
We have had a few tawny owls reported round upminster recently,in fact i popped round my mums tonight at 10pm and heard one across the road on the school roof which is in the middle of town, very unusual and never heard in 25 years of living there.

Hi owl
The best directions I can give are in the field that usually has horses in it there is an oak tree He/she often sits in here. This tree is in the far right of the field and the field is one near scarley road. and it is opposite the biggest lake. I think its the second field nearest Scarley Rd.
Sorry for the rubbish directions

Hi, are the Tawnys visible during the day anywhere or just at night? Any chance of a photo? Thanks

I have only seen them at twilight but we went over on Saturday and didn;t hear a single hoot!!! It's later in the year from when we normally go (been too wet when we have been available) so whether they just were late or have moved on I don't know. Will probably try again later in the year.
