I have yet to give it a go this month but I keep getting messages from my mate Tony a couple of miles away - he had a Delicate a few days ago (very scarce round here) and a Clancy's Rustic this morning, the 2nd county record.

We have had 7 Radford's Flame Shoulders so far this month in addition to one in September. It was new for the Bristol region in 2018 & my patch in 2020. Also a male Spiny Hooktip recently, Scarce Bordered Straw, Beaded Chestnuts, Brindled Green& Green-brindled Crescent. Non-photographed include Acleris sparsana & migrants Silver Y & Rush Veneer.

All the best

Paul

Conditions have not really been conducive of late, but I decided to trap last night in spite of the chill. I was rewarded with this rather nice fresh Yellow-line Quaker and a couple of Red-green Carpets.

In case anyone in Sussex is interested my brother is selling the below on a certain auction site which we inherited from an Uncle who was an ardent mother.

A Complete History of the Butterflies and Moths of Sussex, Colin Pratt - signed

Silver-Y, Rusty-Dot Pearl, 2 Light Brown Apple Moth, tachystola acroxantha and a very late Old Lady last night.

Friday night at Wickham Common produced a number of musitima nitidalis, which seems to be spreading rapidly here in Hampshire although hasn't yet made it to my garden trap.

Dave W

After a completely blank Monday night I found one moth in the trap this morning - a Large Yellow Underwing (plus two wasps). Around and about on walls and windows singles of Red-green Carpet (NFY), Cypress Carpet and Eudonia angustea had escaped the notice of my local Robin.

John

8 of 10 last night/am- Feathered Thorn, Satellite, Green-brindled Crescent, LYU, November Moth, Barred Sallow, Box Tree and 3 Red-green Carpet.

Tachystola acroxantha
Common Marbled Carpet 3
Red-line Quaker
Hypsopygia glaucinalis
2 Square-spot Rustic
2 Lesser Yellow Underwing

Also one tiny unidentified micro, a caddisfly & too many wasps & Hornets.
