Direct from Swarovski they are £630 or about €740Why is it so cheap in the UK? About only 600 euros.
No idea. This is not the first time I've noticed that some products are cheaper in the UK since the Brexit but taxes & customs are here to prevent me from enjoying it. And I cannot order tea & marmelade from Fortnum & Mason which is a much bigger problemWhy is it so cheap in the UK? About only 600 euros.
760€ to be exact.Direct from Swarovski they are £630 or about €740
I'll compare it to the Leica UV 8x20 and decide which one I'll keep. On the paper, the Swaro is better: wider FOV, bigger exit pupil but same size. And x7 vs x8 does not make a big difference for me.Ok, thank you very much, so in five days I'm waiting for the first impressions!
I'm impressed that you can say how much I use my binoculars without even knowing me.that gets barely used.

Consider yourself lucky to be able to get things from the larger market of the EU tax free - a luxury we sadly no longer have here in the UK. Ever since Brexit, the prices of even the smallest items I used to frequently order from the EU have skyrocketed, and now frequently come with myriad taxes / surprise delivery charges / scammy courier fees / paperwork headaches...This is not the first time I've noticed that some products are cheaper in the UK since the Brexit but taxes & customs are here to prevent me from enjoying it. My thoughts exactly. Great for the symphony hall and that's about it for me.Seems a bit steep in price for a small opera glass that gets barely used.
"Superiority" is a relative term. When I walk in a city with my camera, I have the 8x20 because they are small, lean and more than enough for the occasional architectural detail or bird in a park. Even my Leica 8x32 are too much in this case.I totally agree with what you say about the superiority of UV HD 8X32 over Curio,

When I hike, I get the 8x32. When I watch the night sky and I'm sure I'll spend most of my time behind binoculars, I'll get the 8x42.
Each time, I one I get is the one that is "superior" for the day.
I hardly see the point of people saying "I have no use of something so I will tell you why it is too expensive". For instance, some of us have no use of spotting scopes but we do not spend our time in the dedicated forum to say so each time a new one is launched on the market.
Not yet, and no word on ETA. I really like this model, and when the dust has settled might just get one of the orange ones for myself.Hi PP,
Did you receive the orange ones?
