hello, are these ATS scopes still up to the task ? I dont need the modular system ATX and was wondering
is it still valuable to buy ATS 80 , also will this be supported by swarovski in the future when the ATS line will disappear maybe?

The Swarovski ATS 80 is without doubt still a good scope and I don't think you should have any worries about future service support.
However, a Meostar S2 would provide similar performance for a lower outlay, and a Kowa 883 better performance at similar cost.

First of all, Swarovski still services the AT scope, so no worries there, and second the value of second hand Swarovski optics is high, something I can't say about the other two.
Having said that, John has a point.

ok, i think personaly that the swarovski service is better than the Kowa one , if there is someting wrong with the scope , so i will go for the ATS i think

The Swarovski ATS 80 is a great scope & most owners really look after their optics. So buying second hand could save you several hundreds of pounds & quite possibly more. Certainly worth thinking about & keeping your eyes peeled.

Had the opportunity to compare the ATS 80 and the Meopta MeoStar S2 side-by-side and like Bill the S2 won my direct subjective comparison in both performance and value. That said the ATS 80 is still a fine spotting scope, and Jan is correct to point out that SWs hold value better than most other brands.
