Meopta Meostar B1 Plus 10x42 HD..use with glasses?! (1 Viewer)

I just ordered a Meopta Meostar B1 Plus 10x42 HD because I found a new pair for a good/low price here in Sweden. Ordinary price seems to be about $1750 nowadays, but this pair only cost $968. So I could not resist ordering them. BUT..I know that the eye relief is just 15 mm and I have to use glasses when birding. My glasses when birding is small and rather thin, but I am still afraid that it will be hard to use the Meopta binocular in a pleasent way. What do you think?!

With the small and thin glasses that I use when out with bins I just about get the whole FOV on the B1+ 12x50 so I think you will probably be OK. HenRun here (also in Sweden) has come up with a nice trick to replace the eye cups with rubber gaskets that you can get from the DIY store. They fit well and provide maybe 1-2mm more ER. If you search the forums you will probably find that thread. If not then let me know and I'll see if I can find it.

I tried the B1+ 10x42 HD with glasses and it was OK. Not great but OK. When using without glasses, the 15mm ER sometimes results in the need to clean ocular lenses afterwards.

Hope you enjoy the MeoStar!

Thank's..but I cancelled my order of the Meostar and bought a new par of Leica Noctivid 8x42 instead. They work excellent with glasses! 👍🙂

If your greed made you order them without trying them first, wait till they arrive and put them to your eyes, and hey presto, then you will know whether they work for you.
How is anyone here meant to know what fits your eyes/glasses/face.

The Kingfisher: you should be OK using glasses with the 10x42HD. I had no issues with them (I use glasses) and I did not feel the need to replace the eye cups. But, if you are struggling a little with your glasses you can replace the eye cups the way I did with my Meopta 12x50HD.

The person who ended up with my 10x42HD is very happy with them.

I think I saw the ad for the bino (10x42HD). It is a very good price. :) If you need help replacing the eye cups I can hook you up with the rubber gaskets needed (from Bauhaus). It does no damage to the binocular and is completely reversible.
