Had a great day birding outside Cairo with some local birders, leaving Egypt with 64 species, 14 of them lifers!

Amazingly, I only saw 4 of the 64 species last year... so, just a fantastic day out.

It's been a lot of business travel in the past three months - Brussels, Amsterdam, Maastricht, The Hague, Frankfurt, New York, Abu Dhabi - and no time at all for birding.

So, it's been nice to be holed up in a Norwegian cabin at the end of the year, and being visited by some great birds here - including my first ever pair of Bohemian Waxwings!

Off to Oslo today, and then Amsterdam for NYE. Wishing everyone happy end of year celebrations, and a fantastic 2025!
