Lost RSPB Membership Card (2 Viewers)

I lost my RSPB membership card a few months ago and up till this point haven't really missed it, however I am thinking of going to Martin Mere tomorrow and as a junior RSPB member I could usually get in for free. I've got 2 questions:
1 - do the staff there have a database or something that they could use to confirm that I am a member, or will I just have to pay.
2 - can I contact the RSPB in some way and ge them to send me a replacement card?

Cheers Jonny

I had this happen at Minsmere a few years ago - in the end I just paid the permit money as it was going to a good cause. From memory the staff on site dont have access to the membership database but The Lodge can provide a replacement card on request. Do you still have your "only can use it once" non-members permit thats issued at the same time as your annual membership - you could always try using that.

I would have thought that as long as you can tell them your membership number and of course name & address that would be enough for them to check out by phone that you are a member and also order you a new membership card!
Enjoy Martin Mere!

Ummm... isn't Martin Mere a WWT reserve?

D

That will teach me to read posts more carefully in the future!

Dont there is any way the WWT could check RSPB membership (or would feel obliged do to so). Think my replacement membership card wrrived within 4/5 days of requesting it.

I contacted the RSPB via the links on their website and requested a replacement membership card. They emailed back saying I would get it within 7 working days and in the event it arrived two days later.

Great service and I intend to put something in a collecting box next time I see one as there's no reason why a charity should be out of pocket for postage etc just because I was careless enough to lose my card.
