just had a look at the webcam but it says the birds have gone back to Africa, is this normal for a failed nest for the parents to leave so early

Attempt on Wildlife Village

where did it say that? Chances are they'll go back a bit earlier but Its already July and marge is usually away by the 1st week in august anyway. She stayed off the nest last night for the first time. But She's been on the nest this afternoon shouting for dinner. Lol

Front page news in our local paper today has a report that Peter Ferns is now no longer welcome to visit Loch of the Lowes without an escort!

I can hardly believe what I've been reading.

An upsetting scenario

Having visited Loch of the Lowes, and now having read the article in the Courier (thanks Tiger!), I am left feeling angry and sad.

Angry because I don't understand how someone with Peter's record of dedicated work at LoL can be treated so churlishly. Sad because he has given so much to the care and welfare of Lady and her broods and to be now virtually banished is scarcely believable!

I wonder if this has anything to do with the underlying currents experienced not long ago at the Visitor Centre and with the SWT?

What can be done to support Peter? If there is any opportunity to sign anything to show my support and appreciation, then I'll willingly sign!

This is so often the case, and it's so unfair. If there is a problem, or was a problem, surely for all concerned it's better out in the open.

Let's hope that someone with a bit of clout and commonsense tries to ease matters, especially for Peter, who appears badly wronged in all of this.

Well anything one reads in the press is often suspect but something very strange has gone on here. Peter's new group goes from strength to strength.

i can confirm that what was printed yesterday is true. Sadly Its not even the half of it. All Peter wanted to do was see his old friend on the webcam in the place he gave nearly two decades of his life to. They treated him like a criminal. His only crime is that his face did not fit with the new heads of office in hq in Edinburgh. Shameful. There are NO members of staff that were there last year. Very telling isn't it. I'll pass my all your messages to Peter. He was very nervous about going to the papers with this story but he knows Its still going on and he wasn't the only one treated like this either.
