lightweight binoculars suggestions (1 Viewer)

So, it feels good for you the have the VP 8x25 and 8x20 Ultravid? As s good combo?

...non-glasses wearers seem to dislike the VP because the eyecups don’t extend fully.
I've actually got the VP on my shortlist and really found it not wanting in any way, even though I don't wear glasses. Probably just a vocal minority giving the impression that they're not good for the rest of us.
I’ve tried the Curio, it didn’t strike me as a huge improvement over my 8x20 Ultravid, and the VP is a huge improvement over it.
Having tried the VP and liking it a lot, I also own a Curio and a few pairs of 8x20 Ultravids. They're all great, and for me, none are a replacement for the other.

I hardly ever use the Ultravids any more. I did get a more comfortable Kowa Genesis 8x22, current jacket pocket binoculars while the VP is being repaired for the diopter wheel, but that’s because I have more money than sense and prioritize gear acquisition over fripperies like birdwatching trips 😂

The combo that makes sense to me is 8x25 VP, 8x32 or 8x42 NL Pure, and 20x42 Sig-Sauer Zulu6 HDX (stabilized). The Leica Ultravid 10x50 for astronomy.

Or a difference in eye socket morphology. I never liked binoculars with the naked eye because my long eyelashes get in the way and tickle.

Ah, also dioptre problems. Me too.
I got a brand new VP after waiting 3 months.

I got the VP 8x25 pocket and i love it.
I read a lot about the Curio and cant get it out of my head. I know i should try in real life.

Do you think its worth having them both?
VP 8x25 for keep open around my neck on long nature walks and Curio for in my pocket for shorter walks, parks and city trips?

I'll eventually have a Victory Pocket and won't be selling off the Curio for any reason at all. Zeiss and Swarovski both knocked it out of the park when they introduced these two perfectly complementary models.

@fazalmajid

If/when you are inclined, can you comment on the useable eye relief of the Kowa 8x22 with glasses? The one downside for me with the Kowa 10.5x44 is the listed ER of 16mm is insufficient for me to get the full FOV with glasses and the 8x22 is listed at 15mm.

Thanks,

Mike

I’m far-sighted with varifocals, I don’t have any problems seeing all the way to the field stops with the 8x22. Actually tilting my eyes to see the field edge is more problematic, but I’m attributing this to the varifocals.
