Lens repair (1 Viewer)

OUT&ABOUT

Hello to everyone,
I have a Sigma 150-500 and I think its lost some of its sharpness since I first bought it. It has been ruffed up a bit (bounced about in my car). I do not believe that anyone in my country is qualified to do repairs on this lens ,so I will have to send it somewhere. I was wondering if I should send it to Sigma or a reputable Camera/Lens shop. Is it very expensive to have repairs/maintenance work done. Lastly would Sigma be more expensive than other people who repair.
Thank for any help

I'd probably send it to Sigma for the chance the work might be under warranty. The 150-500 has image stabilization and might need adjustment beyond the basic issues. According to the Sigma website, they have a dealer in the US Virgin Islands. They might be able to provide service and repair.

The alternative is sending it to one of the big camera repair services. Here is a link to United Camera Repair. It looks like their basic repair is $310 plus shipping.
