In a pub garden in Bristol with a large and very colourful Starling. Large beak, yellowish feathers on top and mottled chest feathers.
Really couldn’t work out what it was.
The picture is a very poor snap!

Hello,

welcome to Birdforum!

Do yo have more pictures? I agree with Daniel and Stephen, I cant identify your bird with only this single picture, as heavy artefacts surely changes features. No offence to a new member, but if you browse through similar threads here on BF you will find photos where the bird seems to show features, that werent present on the bird, but are the result of light effects, sharpening artefacts and similar.

Anyway, if forced, I would opt for a juvenile Starling. By smallish head in relation to the body and appearantly shape of the bill. But as said, more pictures could well change this.
