Hello,

I’m going to visit Goa state of India for birding purpose for a week in November. I am thinking to use public transport mostly to make my trip as cheap as possible. But I will take taxi probably sometimes for the places that can not be reached by public transport. Also I will carry Olympus mirrorless camera with a telephoto lens on my neck. Is GOA safe for birding alone with a telephoto camera?

I've been there three times, 2015, 2016 & 2018. Some days with a guide, other days with my wife only, and some days alone.

No trouble at all, although when walking along the busy road to Fort Aguada from our hotel in Candolim, I thought it made sense to put my bins and camera/sigma150-600 lens into a rucksack while I was walking amongst lots of road traffic. Once out of the built-up area, where birds were likely in the roadside bushes, I just carried them around my neck, ready for instant use.
