In AND around Sunderland (1 Viewer)

I have a Tawny Owl on the roof opposite my house in Ennerdale,Ashbrooke making a keewick, keewick sound right now at 22.15. Is that likely to be a youngster trying to establish a territory ?

A good look around Whitburn CPK today failed to produce the hoped for YB Warbler but did see a Willow Tit the first time i've seen one there, pressumably the bird trapped and ringed there at the weekend which was i believe only the second record for the site.
Also saw a few Goldcrests a Chiff Chaff and a Barnacle Goose heading north.

A steady movement of Barnacles throught an hour or so along at Trow and the Leas 270 in total, also 1 maybe 2 Lapland Buntings flushed near the mound.

The Barnacle passage continued this afternoon with a further 50+ past Whitburn and 23 over Marsden quarry making it about 350 I've seen today. Also a Med Gull on the sea just north of the obs and a mixed Goldcrest and Tit flock along the edge of Sheawater.
The 3 Pinkfeet still at Boldon flats with Greylags.
