Have no idea on these things. They seem to live in a comunal nest but each has its own seperate 'peek' hole. See one popping its head to the front. They do not come out any further.
The second photo shows what they look like when taken out. (naughty me)
One large hump on back and very large head with large crab like pincers.

Sleepylizard is correct,

You don't want your fingers anywhere near their jaws in either the larval or adult form, their nip is very painful indeed.
