Hooting, Unknown species - U.S., New England (1 Viewer)

Around my house and near a few local businesses I’ve been hearing a hooting, but I can’t figure out who it belongs to. Google can’t help, but so far I can say it’s NOT a Barred Owl, Barn Owl, Great Horned Owl, or a Mourning Dove.

The hooting sounds like a sort of hoo, hoo hoo as opposed to the closest sounding but not matching the h'HOO hoo hoo of a Great Horned Owl, since I know someone will say it if I don't explicitly mention that.
The first hoot is slightly deeper and has a slightly longer pause after it, but the other two following are higher and have a shorter pause between them.

If anyone could help, that would be great! I would love to know what kind of bird this is, I think an owl?

Welcome to BF.
It's easy to record with a phone - and you can then compare it at your leisure with known recordings (eg xeno-canto.org) and with the written descriptions in your field guide. Or post the file here.

I wish I had, the only issue is that I was at Dairy Queen with my family celebrating Mother’s Day early, but I forgot my phone at home. If I had recorded it I would've definitely used Merlin Bird ID, hasn't failed me yet, but sadly I didn't.
