Help ID raptor silhouette (video) - Portsmouth, UK (1 Viewer)

Video of a raptor riding a thermal this morning. Hovering above town. We normally dont get large raptors in this area. Only the odd sparrowhawk/peregrine falcon.

It was flying quite high (video zoomed in 12x on phone camera).

I am guessing red kite but need confirmation.

Excellent, a small video says more than a few distant pictures.

Agree with Red Kite, watch the 'total control' and manoeuvrability when soaring, typical for kites, especially the red one that has this wing position with more narrow tips.

You can see the fork and the translucent tail in the video too.
