Hello from Florida! I found this community while researching information on a white house sparrow I just saw at my local Walmart! 😍 It was with a group of other house sparrows and ducklings! What a special treat! ❤️ I wish I could get a good photo, but they get scared when I go near so I leave them be and enjoy with my eyes haha.

Hi BZBee and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. Here's a link to our Opus (wildlife) Dictionary entry for Leucism (there's a link to the related issue of Albinism in it), which I hope you will find of interest.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Update from my last post: I caught a video! If anyone can help me identify it, that would be great! It looks a bit smaller than the sparrows and there was another with it that is brown with an orange and blue mask! The video is too large to attach so I took a screenshot from it.

Hi again... in view of your picture and questions, I'll move this thread to the ID forum.

They will do their best to assist you.

Looks like a Zebra Finch on the left, so the white one is possibly a breeder's variation of this species.
I assume, if they are Zebra Finches, that both are escapes from captivity as they are native to Australia. Although I suppose there could be a naturalised population in Florida??

Both birds in the image are Zebra finches, commonly kept as a pet. The left hand one looks like a wild-type Australian zebra finch:

Edit: I see the Sunda Zebra Finch is the origin of most captive birds. In fact, we can't see well enough to determine which it is here. Not all authorities treat them as different species in any case: ebird / Clements doesn't for example

Very cool! I came across this in my research and it looks like you and Wheatearlep are correct. I agree with it being a zebra finch. Very cool.
