Hi Christopher, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.

The Regal Sunbird (Nectarinia regia) is a strikingly colorful bird belonging to the family Nectariniidae. Found in montane forests of East Africa, including countries like Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda, it thrives at higher altitudes, especially in areas with flowering plants. Males are particularly vibrant, with iridescent plumage in shades of green, red, and yellow, while females display more muted tones of olive or gray. These birds primarily feed on nectar, using their long, curved beaks to extract it, but they also consume insects and spiders for protein. The Regal Sunbird plays a vital role in pollination due to its feeding habits.
