Haix Boots (1 Viewer)

Hi together,

I´m planing to buy new boots for summer. It seems that this company produce good stuff and I´ll like to buy a pair Airpower P9 Desert. The problem is that they here on the continent sell the boots with just the normal width (wideness) but in US with different kinds. Where I can buy them and which company delivers them to Europe as www.haix.com sell them only to US and Canada.

Do you guys know any other shoe company with qualitative high grade boots?

Every suggestion much appreciated!

I also have the misfortune of having wide feet and it was so hard to find a pair in my size and width so I went with custom made boots.

I finally found the solution with Russell Moccasin (http://russellmoccasin.com/) and have purchased many shoes and boots and they all fit perfectly. You have to take the measurements carefully with they type of socks on that you will wear. They currently have a long wait but I feel it is worth it, just had three pair get new sole, they are very comfortable and durable. Worth the wait and the price.

Hi there Stonechat, we are the Irsih distributor for Haix Boots http://www.brixworkwear.com. Due to the special construction of the Airpower P9 sole, the boots are already quite wide fitting as are most other Haix Boots. However, I have been in touch with Haix and we can get the boot made for you on an even wider fitting last.
Regards
John

Not sure what to do now, John? Buying normal boots or do you have any assignment (instructions) for me?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Stonechat,

I spoke to my father who was a shoe designer before he set up our company and he said that the key things for someone with a bunion are to avoid steel toe caps which restrict the width around the toe and to try to get and get boots that lace low i.e. lace further down the foot towards the toe.

He recommended the Airpower P10 but I told him that I thought you favoured the desert look. The boots are very similar in make up and Haix could widen one of those.

Just so you don't think I am flogging my products my father did say that the Hitec Hiking boots are quite wide fitting and we don't sell those ) Amazon have a good range but again look for something low lacing.

In any case, if you did to buy a wide version of the Airpowers from us I would have no issue taking them back if they did not fit.

Good luck with your quest.

Cheers
John

Have a look at Alt-Berg. They make all sorts of boots and custom fit them or make bespoke ones if you can afford it.

I'm sure I've seen a picture on their website of a boot that they have formed to shape for a bunionned foot.

Definitely worth a look. I have very wide feet and intend to visit them sometime to see what they can do.

Ouch - looks familiar

Looks like my foot, yours may be a bit more pronounced. Do yourself a favor and consider the Russell Moccasin, they will charge an up front fee, mine was $24 to make a 'custom last' for your foot, per foot. Like you I tried many boots, extra wide, low-to-the-toe laces, over size etc, most ended up going for donation since they never fit right.

I do not have any interest in the company but like to see people with a foot problem be able to still get outdoors. My Foot Doctor also casts my foot for an orthotic and so my boots also have to be extra deep and have a not-too-noticeable hump around the bunion. They work well and repeat orders, for shoes etc do not have the extra charge. Hope you find the solution, good luck.

Ps

Forgot to mention I have had 4 foot surgeries and once I needed a change to the boot, I called Russell and asked to add a little pinch to the shoe for my left bunion and they added a little extra space. The old boots were lose enough to accomadate my foot but they built-up the area on the newer pair and it fit like a glove, no charge. Keep us posted on your search for freedom from pain for your feet.

bunions treatment

I think we must use all that treatment.Using a toenail clipper that has straight edge will help in cutting the toenails properly leaving no room for any in-growth.
