Gwent birding (1 Viewer)

I saw four Blackbirds on the yellow berries outside the Leisure Centre entrance this afternoon so they may just jump on those next. They were certainly back and forth to them Saturday morning.

Congratulations Gary and Mike. The best wildlife photographers by far. I noticed your photos appeared on the competition poster!

Cheers Al and thanks Steve, anybody want to buy anything from Cash Generator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):-O

No sign of Waxwings at Mendalgeif Retail in Newport this morning, stayed from 8-9am in Halfords car park watching the berry trees.

There was a really aggressive thrush protecting the berry trees from absolutely everything else so that probably didn't help.

Dipped again! :-(

just about to show off my knowledge of birds...
very large flock (300+)of 'sparrow-sized birds' in the trees to the north of Tafarnaubach Ind Est at 7.45 Thursday morning. Didn't have chance to have a closer look as I was on my way to work. Any thoughts on what they might have been to help widen my lack of knowledge...

22 waxwing outside Buffs Club Brynmawr at 11:30am, plenty of berries left. Sorry about the late posting but shopping until now....:(

thats more like it, a proper flock. hopeing some stick around a few more weeks until my trip back for Christmas. Not expecting any in Dorset at the moment though we got tones of berries waiting for them.

Thought you might be interested in this spot ......on the way to Cardiff by train this afternoon for the Wales rugby match, midway between Cardiff and Newport, sea side of the track, flying towards Newport.....a Little Egret.

Have you seen it around?

Hi all,

c.15 Waxwings in Monmouth feeding on a white rowan on Goldwire Lane/Somerset Road this afternoon. Still a hell of a lot of berries on the tree, so may be around a while and grow in numbers.

Cheers,

Lewis.
