garden bugs for ID (1 Viewer)

It's amazing how many little creatures appear in the garden at this time of year. Here are a couple of small ones, v. roughly 8mm and 12mm long. Anyone know what they are? I know that the photos aren't brilliant but they were small!

Hi Ken,
These aren't BUGS Hemiptera/Homoptera. These are Beetles, Coleoptera. What they are I haven't a clue, I don't do Beetles.

Harry.

Hello,
1 is a Red-Tipped Flower Beetle (Malachius bipustulatus) - the other I have in the garden but have yet to ID. Will have a look tomorrow.

Best wishes
Jen :)

Agreed on the ID´s;
especially the Malachius bipustulatus can be difficult to photograph, as it runs quite quickly and can also get airborne more quickly than most other beetles- so well done to catch a photo
