From Tim Wootton's Studio (8 Viewers)

Wow Tim , this is motoring along. I know how long something of this size
would take me so hats off to you my friend . Its Looking real good from
here.
Looking forward to the progress reports

Tim - where will this fabulous creation be displayed?

I may have to pack my bags to come and see it up close - this is an amazing piece of work - I am in absolute awe!!

Makes my attempts at painting birds seem amateurish by comparison - I am - at best - a copyist - meaning I have to have something to look at - to work from - you - my friend are the real thing!! A true artist...meaning that you see it in your mind's eye - and actually models are not strictly necessary.

( And - no - I'm not feeling sorry for myself or fishing for compliments here - simply acknowledging a master :)

Bravo Tim! Paint on...

A couple of (bad) detail pics, Peter. The above water is done very graphically and lacking in detail in an attempt to knocjk the subjects back.
Also here's the first stages of the very foreground panels - undrwater rocks and stones with associated insect larvae and bottom dwelling fish (just a stonefly larvae and GP snail illustrated at the mo.

A load of old rocks

I suppose I'm on the last push for this job now. About 1/3rd of the way across the bottom of the panels.
I really think I ought to have priced this work up by the square yard!!!!!

and yet more

The rock-scape is virtually complete. I just need to add several inverts and fishy-types (stone loach and bullhead already on there). Has to be finished tomorrow . . .

Chris - the finished artwork is destined for an interpretative centre in North Yorkshire, on the River Wharfe. I don't know any more about it, I'm afraid.

Perfect- if transporting the big piece is an issue, you could raft it Viking style from Orkney down East coast and up river, quick pillage and return.

Hi Tim

Love the pictures of your insects, birds and bats :t:

The details is beautiful. Lots of admiration from my OH also. He likes to paint when he has time.

Keep on going as you are doing,

Agree with everything everyone else has said - it's fabulous!!! :t:

I love the way you have captured the various fish species perfectly too o:) Absolutely brilliant! I have a soft spot for fish so I've been watching this painting's progress and enjoyed every minute of it (but then it's not me who's doing it ;):-O ).

I'm sure it'll be VERY well received in it's new home :t:

Well ALMOST finished . . .

Many thanks for the extremely kind words of encouragement - I doubt that I'd have got this far without the constant support from BFers!!!!
I suspect i have probably another two hours on this tonight, then a quick hour or two the morn before special-d off to Yorkshire by lunchtime.
If I get time I'll try and photograph the whole thing in an approximation of how it's supposed to look.
Meanwhile a few very rubbishy detail pics of the foreground.
I like the idea Ed - haven't been pillaging for ages ;)

Wow Tim - an amazing effort - would love to see the photos of the whole thing if you can possibly manage it - sure I'm not the only one either...

BFers are certainly an encouraging group...quite the cheering section you've had egging you on Tim...but the kudos are all to you - superb work!

Thanks for the info on the paintings future home - it would be really something to see this in person.
