Hey everyone,
I've attached a recording of what Merlin (BirdNET Sound ID) is telling me is an Elegant Trogon.
I'm sharing it here to hopefully get some expert opinions to confirm the ID.
I'm skeptical because research tells me that they're only found in the Atascosas, Chiricahuas, Huachucas, and Santa Ritas Mountains, but this recording is from Ajo, AZ, about 100 miles west of the closest mountain range Elegant Trogons are found.
The recording was made on 1/24/24 around 5am.
What do you think?
