Ross's Goose, bufflehead, hooded merganser and smew... is it correct?

The hooded merganser is very odd, with brown feathers where they don't belong (mostly replacing black feathers).

Thanks for your feedback, do you think it could be a different species? Or is it only a variation of a domestic bird?

Unless it is some kind of hybrid (no knowledge of this), there is no other species that resembles Hooded Merganser.

Collection birds for sure. I don't think the Hooded Merganser is a hybrid but suspect an immature drake.

I don't know if there are any of Hooded Merganser, but in the London parks "exotic" collections (I'm guessing this is Regents Park?) there are often individuals with odd colour mutations of various species, originating from the "ornamental"/pet bird trade.
