Hi Andy and Brian,
First en-large the pic by clicking the arrows (bottom right) then you should see a tiny white "comma or ," in the middle of the lower wing!

ohhhhh, that's meant to be a comma? I see. Well I see what you mean but it doesn't look like a comma to me. Shouldn't it be called the tippex splodge or something similar.

Do they still make tippex?

Don't blame me I didn't name it!!!!! lol!!!!! :'D :'D
Glad you saw it anyway!
Don't know about tippex?.....I used to use gallons of the stuff in the days before PC's!!!!
Best wishes,

Hi Ruth - I could see the comma! But then as an English teacher I am plagued by them! Goodness, yes I used to use loads of Tippex. I think it is still made.

That is a fantastic picture.

Hi, Ruth, I had a Dragonfly in my garden on Sunday. I have never seen one in the garden before, but we are close to a river and pools. Perhapts the birdbaths drew their attention. It flew over my head but I couldn't have ID'd it either it was too quick, and my mouth will still open in surprise, so brain wasn't working. It must be a good year for them!

I just got lucky with my Dragonfly as he was sunbathing!!!!

Hi Ruth,

First an apology, I opened up my new thread about Commas BEFORE I read the rest of this one.

Back to Dragonflys. Having said that we get very few of them here (which is true), I go out to fiddle with bird feeders and there on the power wires over the garden is this one!

Interesting to watch as it kept flying off the wire, jittering about a bit, and then landing again; I assume that it was chasing/catching insects.

By the way, didn't have me long lens with me so best I could do, it WAS about 3 metres up in the air.

Bill

Don't worry about it Bill!
Lovely Dragonfly pics especially from THAT distance! :t:
Is that a Red Darter as well? It looks very similar to mine?
Best wishes,

Best wishes,

I really should have borrowed the Tippex for my last message! It is good to be back. I must try and pop in more often, but it is so addictive, and RL and a 'dickie' computer have kept me away for a while. RL being partly Badgers and birds of course!

Back soon, best wishes,
