Downloadable lists of British Birds? (1 Viewer)

Hi

I'm new to birding and this forum so hope this is the right place to ask this - an apologies if its been asked a million times before.

I hope to keep up a list of what I've seen, where and when etc. I'd like to create a computer database for this and so would like to get hold of a list of birds in electronic format.

Does anyone know where I can download a list of British Birds or British and European Birds?

Excel or Word format would be ideal or just text format would do.

Something else you may wish to consider is entering all your records into the BTO Birdtrack website. That way you can access your records and carry out searches and the BTO and the County Recorders can access your data too (and it all goes towards the BTO Bird Atlas 2007-2011 too!)
