CRYPTIC plumage 2 (1 Viewer)

2. Ruddy turnstone

Glowing healthily = ruddy

Beachcomber = turning stones over plus the pun on tern

Yes, Ruddy = glowing healthily but the rest of the clue is made up of an anagram of ‘terns to un’ to get ‘turnstone’ ;)

Well done - B :)

Hopefully others will find some of the clues as easy!!

I’ve seen that quiz before but enjoyed it again. Some very clever ones in there. Thanks Deb!

So adding the outstanding clue above to a new list as follows:

1. Restrained, Learner gets clumsy near optic for tern-like insectivore (wp) Goyter

2. Beachcomber is glowing healthily before terns to un- scramble (wp) Kits:clap:

4. Has this singing Goliath forgotten the words? (N) Kits

5. White golfball supporter meets tv friend after being reticent about coming forward (Aus) Simon

6. Possession of well loved Volleyball goes to long range shooter (missing the final) (N) Essex Tern

7. Republican-sided with Democrat to hearing late turnout (3-7, 8) (WP) Essex Tern
!

Excellent, all right with the correct paths - (ET in Red-flanked Bluetail - the tail is also in the clue -
‘late’ turnout = tale, sounding like ‘tale’ = tail.)

. Native American vegetable sounds disgusting ? (O)

Here we have some anagrams:

1 LEAPING ENFORCER
2. WIND SNATCHER.
3. LITTLE TOADING
4. GRILL HUNGER
5. NEW GRID

and cryptic clues

6. House animal (wearing glasses perhaps?) starts to relish every lick for skimmer . (N)

7. Back of restructured Italian opera house has furs for a set time for rare breeder (WP)

8. reptilian rug maker produces fearsome looking specimen (Ethiop)

Pea is the veg
Fowl is the disgusting element

6. Spectacled petrel

House animal = pet

Wearing glasses perhaps = spectacled

Starts to relish = rel
