As a result of Mark's contribution (alt. added clarification/elucidation), back in March of 2021, in the Taxonomy and Nomenclature Forum, in thread Troglodytes wrens (see post #21, here), I also took a quick look at this case/topic ... so below is a tiny, minor additional piece regarding the dedicatee commemorated in ...

muelleri/mülleri as in:
• the invalid, or debated (Common/Northern/Eurasian) Wren ssp. Troglodytes troglodytes muelleri VON JORDANS 1928 (here), as "Troglodytes troglodytes mülleri":

Ich benenne die Form zu Ehren des Deutschen Consuls in Palma Herrn Alfred Müller, der uns—worauf ich in den Einleitungen besonders hinwies—auf allen 3 Reisen in entgegenkommendster und tatkrätigster Weise unterstützte, welcher Hülfe ich zum grossen Telle meine Erfolge an Ort und Stelle zu danken habe.

Which (indeed) ought to be aimed at; Alfred Müller "Honorarkonsul in Palma" (from 1923, until his death 21 December 1931 (in Zürich), who was succeed on that consular post by Hans Dede (at least according to here).

Maybe he could be found (in full) simply by following his consular career, who knows?

Just a suggestion, an observation, as I happened to stumble upon this text ... possibly a task for our German friends?

So died indeed 21. Dec.1931 in Switzerland (maybe not Zürich City but Canton Zürich)

Den Nachlass zu regeln, war Aufgabe von Alfred Müller, der seit 1923 deutscher Honorarkonsul in Palma war.
