Carolina Wren Nest - old? (1 Viewer)

Hi all, looking for some guidance. I just came across what I believe is a Carolina Wren nest that was built in my little pup tent style greenhouse that collapsed during a recent snowstorm. I was clearing it out in preparation for our next storm and came across it. I’m not sure if I should leave it, or remove it. It looks like it was likely built last season, but wasn’t sure if they would be planning to re-use it very soon. Any thoughts? We’ve been insanely cold here this winter too, so not sure if maybe they’ve been sheltering in it either.
Thanks so very much!

Hi Beth, welcome to the forum on behalf of the staff and moderators. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. From what I’ve read the wrens do not reuse their nest the following year, so you should be safe to dispose of it.
