Canon R3 & Canon 800MM F/5.6 RF Lens Combo anyone yet..? (1 Viewer)

I am quite surprised that no one yet has stepped forward to share their R3 experience's..? You see tons pertaining to the R7 but nothing yet on R3...

What prices do they sell at? How many here can afford the more expensive of these?

Maybe nobody who comes here has one. They are over 4 times the price of the R7, with only half the pixels of the R5 and three-quarters the pixels of an R7, so obviously less in demand numerically for birds.

So what your telling me is that the R3 is useless for "BIRDS" even if I never said a word about birds right..? Less in demand says who..? And I bet the new RF800 is also 1/2 the pixels too right..?

I'm saying precisely what I wrote, no more, no less. If you choose to put your own interpretations on that for your own ends, that's up to you. How are you getting on with your own R3? Troll away. I'll not be replying.

Personally I think the R3 has merits for bird photograph, I know there's a few on this forum that have used the 1DX2 so the natural progression. R3 has better AF over the R5, better buffer as you would expect, cost wise you can pick one up from Panomoz for around £4900 and thats where I'll be heading next. R7 offers nothing than I'm interest in as it's too compromised.

Bafty, The R3 was the way to go with me as well was the Canon RF800MM F/5.6 Lens. I agree with all the compromises the lower end ones present and stuck with the Canon Flagships just like I do with my Nikon Flagships... Here is both the new Nikon Z9 as well as the Canon R3 ready for some clicking snaps of the SriLankan rain forrest again this fall..75A4ECDA-446F-4C1B-B752-B89449E6E59A.jpeg

Jeez. Strap on camera not big lens? Bad idea. No photographer would risk that!

John

Your own photos aren't evidence of your practise? Not much point to posting them, then.

John
PLEASE SHOW me a picture of me CARRYING the Camera & Long lens by a CAMERA STRAP..? What the heck does my pictures show besides a camera strap affixed to the Camera BODY..? You have not seen not a single bit of evidence that I carry around a $25,000.00 KIT by the strap on the camera.... Yes these are my photos and lots of my equipment...

I feel the tone have become a little heated lately. If The Bulb wants to show images of his equipment, that is OK, especially when he does so in threads he has started himself. If you hate seeing it, don't open such threads.
So please, could we get a little lower key please?
Niels

A friend of mine is a Canon UK Ambassador & has an 800mm F5.6. He has also been given use of the majority of the new mirrorless bodies, so he may have tried it with an R3. Check out Oliver Wright on the web or FB.
