The Scottish Ornithologists Club was formed in 1936 but I think the West Midlands Bird Club is a wee bit older.

Not sure I would call the BOU a club.

The RSPB was founded in 1889, receiving royal charter in 1904. Arguably the largest birdwatching club in the UK - history here. Over the other side of the Atlantic, the US was only one year behind (1905).
