Bresser 25-75 X 90 scopes in Lidl for £65 (1 Viewer)

Over the hill & Chillin out !!
Anybody tried one of these, (Bresser 25-75 X90) at lidl for £65, as i am in the market for a cheap scope to start off with, just spent over £600 on camera gear so am a bit short of the reddies at the moment.

I tried one of these a while back and from memory the field of view was very narrow, brightness OK but I couldn't see if the eyepiece was interchangeable. It was a bit hard to handhold and test instore.

I expect someone will be along with more recent experience of it.

Navman,

I suggest you go to the Wildings photographic store and try the Opticron Piccolo (£70) & Atkara (i think, £100) both with zooms and both less than £100. I tried the opticron and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the image. I've not tried the Bresser tho.

Thanks for the replies, i will go and try the Opticron at wildings, i am just looking for something to put me on for a bit, i would like if i am honest, a swarovski, but being realistic, i think the Nikon scopes are more in my price range, so that is what i am looking at longer term, but just want something cheapish to put me on till then.

:)

not on sale in my local store so i cant see it on there websire i would of gone down just for a look, a bit of research on the net says that the last bresser scopes they had in were very narrow FOV and not very well made. though they do offer a full refund. would be interested if someone had first had exp. of this as i was looking at the bresser safari scope i have the bins and there brilliant for the money.

My first scope was a Bresser safari 20-60x80. For the money it was very good. Yes FOV is narrow, the eyepiece was non-interchangeable. I think as a first scope (or as a temporary stopgap) they're fine. It certainly whetted my appetite and within 7 months I'd upgraded to a Leica.

I used the bresser for digiscoping, with mixed results (esp when zoomed) but I did get some good pictures. The main prob was that I had to zoom the camera to get rid of vignetting but that messed up the camera focusing so had to readjust the scope focus beyond the subject.

All in all for that price I think they're pretty good as long as you are realistic in your expectations!

In theory it would be possible to adapt something to fit....in practise probably not worth the effort.

"Opticron Piccolo (£70)" Have seen them on ebay for under 50 quid.
