going cornwall for a week soon,
does anyone know any good birding spots,
will be stopping at saltash,near liskeard,

The Lizard is good if you want migrants and seabirds. Respryn (near Bodmin) is also a nice place to go birding and I normally see Dippers there. One of my favourite places to go birding in cornwall is Crowdy Reservoir. I've seen Common Sandpiper, Turnstone, Raven and Wheatear there and the pines often hold tits and crests.

Rame Head and Penlee is a must if you are stopping in Saltash. Work the area well, including all the fields and hedgerows as well as the farmyards, and especially the trees around Rame Church. The whole of the cliff path from Rame around Whitesand Bay should be looked at if you want to find Dartford Warbler

Kingsmill lake - take the footpath from the China Fleet Club around the side of the Golf course. Great views of the estuary from the hide and in September who knows what could be there. Osprey is usual at this time of year. I see them from my kitchen window scaring the gulls off the river.
Siblyback reservoir is good for waders, as is Colliford lake.

The river Lynher from Wacker layby between Sheviock and Anthony should provide some birds, and St Johns Lake at Torpoint is excellent for Med Gull. Same with Millbrook lake.

Marazion a must, Mounts bay great too.

Area around Lands End is superb for migants too, scenery alone worth the trip. Try the path north towards Sennen....

All great places, but remember that from Saltash - Land's End is a 150mile round trip

Just come back from Cornwall last week, stayed near Lizard point, an underwatched area with great potential,weather was poor so didnt see much, Church cove near Lizard point looks a great spot, 5 green sand on Hayle Kimbro pool was about my best sighting, really good article in last months Birdwatch about birding the Lizard

If you do the South Hams, then try to be at Start Point early morning for migrants galore. Check the path down to the lighthouse then look hard into the scrub in the lighthouse gardens. Often dozens of various migrant species in it. Check the farm back from the car park too.

After that nip over to Prawle then Slapton, sounds like a good plan I may do that soon!
