Bird of Prey? Caracara? Santarem, Brazil. (1 Viewer)

This is one that I've had since February 2012. The bird was perched on the cranes on the River Port of Santarem, on the Amazon. I've tried, but the closest I could come up with was a juvenile Chimango Caracara, but the Chimango Caracara isn't supposed to be as far north in Brazil as the Amazon River.
Sorry about the quality of the
picture, it was the best I could do with the little compact digital camera I had.

Why not a juv yellow-headed caracara?

cheers, Andrew

Because Ber Van Perlo's birds of Brazil book depicts the juvenile as having paler markings. I googled some images and got the same result. However, after your comment I looked again and found this image https://www.flickr.com/photos/iceman_blue/7665343594 - which could be the same as mine if it was made a little more fuzzy.

I think you've agreed it's one of the Caracara tho' - which is a step forward from where I was this morning. So thank you for that.
