Bird egg identification,on ground,south louisiana. (1 Viewer)

I live in south Louisiana and I walked outside this morning and I found a small blue eg by itself just laying in the middle of my lawn can anyone help me identify it?

There's a few birds that have blue eggs i.e. Starlings, Bluebirds & Robins. This site might help you make a decision:

Now if you can see any nests in nearby trees where you found the egg, would it be possible to lay the egg in the nest w/o disturbing the parent birds?

That's the thing that made me curious because there are absolutely no trees nowhere near where I found it at

It's quite possible that another bird or squirrel took one of the eggs from a nest for food but didn't get that far with eating it.

Laying odd random eggs away from the nest is classic Starling behaviour :t:
