Big warm up and the micros came out last night.

Pretty sure this is a lifer Stigmella prunifoliella

Much quieter over the last week. Largely singles yesterday - Straw Underwing, Orange Swift, White Point, Large Yellow Underwing, Lime speck Pug, Square Spot Rustic.

Didn’t trap last night, however a quick check on the patio halogen light wall before “lights out”revealed a (12’ up…NFY) Dusky Thorn…which I don’t get that many of.

Went to a very small nature reserve near where I live this morning where they were doing a bioblitz.

They had a very basic LED trap & when I opened it had very few moths. Not a single micro (perhaps a relief as I was supposed to be identifying the catch!) but with a Flame Carpet & 2 Square-spot Rustic. Nearby we found a Blood-vein on a piece of Yorkshire Fog grass, looking quite camouflaged.

Anything over a dozen is a good night for me, this am, I counted 36 of 11 with the lion’s share going to Light Emerald (16)+ a NFY…drum roll…..Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing! which rocketed out the pot before I could snap it.😩

Have you seriously overslept, or put this in the wrong thread?

John
