Alpha-class binocs? (3 Viewers)

I agree with...Allbinos 99% of the time, so I know they are correct. I don't agree with your reviews because all they are is your subjective opinion.
Both you and Allbinos insist there's no difference between the Leica BN and Ultravid HD+, which is wrong at least 99% of the time, and also is nothing but your poorly arrived upon subjective opinion, which you state as unequivocal fact.
You also stood by your view that no one can use a 12x50 binocular because they'd have to have weightlifters arms to do so.

You're wrong far too often and on such obviously erroneous claims that it just makes all of your content a grey area of content.

I'm sort of left behind by the way many of the contributors to this thread seem comfortable throwing around a couple of grand for new binocs (for whatever reason). If the OP feels that somehow his Leica 7x42BA is an embarassment, I will gladly offer it free board in my Rest Home for Old Binoculars, where it will join other unwanted relics such as my "new" Swift Audubon HR/5 from 1993 (<$150 on the 'Bay). I exercise my boarders almost every day; none complains of neglect or underappreciation and (unlike horses) they don't lose their edge with age. Wish I could say the same for their user . . .

IMG_1754.jpegNot Leica, Leitz. I didn’t say or even imply they are an embarrassment. However, they are less than ideal for those of us who wear glasses. The eye cups are starting to crack, and replacements are NLA. (Shoe Goo does a decent repair, and Leica USA did say I could send them in for “inspection”, which I intend to do.) Also, I was looking for higher magnification. That being said, we still enjoy using them. And the armoring is in great shape after all these years ;-)

THANKS FOR SPEAKING LOUD ENOUGH FOR THOSE OF US IN THE BACK ROW, BUT WHO ARE YOU EVEN TALKING TO SO RUDELY, BECAUSE YOU'RE SUBJECTING THE WHOLE FORUM TO IT.

If you're confused over any opinions in the thread then that's how at least a few of us are feeling about your rant. Let's just talk in normal voices and not yell at others for no good reason. Amazing that people positioning themselves as the voices of reason are incapable of doing so in a civil manner.
Bad enough that you're mad at the binocular owner for having issues, but starting out by alpha-shaming anyone choosing to buy the binoculars they want seems a bit envious, or misguided to say the least.

My sincerest apologies to Trinovid and any other followers who took my attempt at humor as a serious rant. I appeciate the OP's attachment to older optics as well as pusuit of the new.

If by loudness, Trinovid is also refering to the bold-face font, I was annoyed by it too but couldn't get rid of it (it didn't seem to be the toggle in the tool bar).

Very sorry.

Me thinks a slight over reaction there to your inoffensive post....your font didn't bother me, as opposed to the OTT reply you received. In fact it made it easier to read but then we are all different!
