This thread should give you a good start

It's worth taking a look at http://www.costablancabirdclub.com/index.htm

I visit the Elche/Elx region twice a year every year on holiday, and have found the above forum thread and the the CBBC web site very useful. El Hondo is a particularly good reserve, where you will almost certainly see white headed duck, and possibly marbled duck (although I am not sure when they arrive, and have so far not succeeded with the latter). And I think the spotted eagle have left by then.

Hi there,

I'm heading to Murcia in April for a week which is down in the South East and was looking for some help on where the best sites are here and what I can expect to find.

Many thanks in advance

Dennis

I'm heading out to the Murcia area on 10th of March. A great blog I found with local sightings is murciabirder.blogspot.co.uk/ I'm looking forward to it.
