    A unique duck in Florida, adapted to life in the wetlands...it's similar to mallards, and black ducks, but is its own species. The mottled ducks of South Florida are usually referred to as a subspecies of mottled duck...nicknamed 'Florida ducks'.

    Another bird that loves to hide deep in the reeds. This one was guarding a nearby nest - a male and female couple were there...every rare once in a while, another bird would disturb the reeds they had set their nest in, and this one would come marching out to see what the disturbance was.
