Possibly a nightjar? [AUDIO] (Greece, europe)
On march 5th I was birding at a wetland/marsh, at aroung 4 pm (sun was still up, just a little cloudy) the area has lots of thick vegetation and reeds around, as well as short trees and bushes, and I heard this sound that may or may not have been a eurasian nightjar. Wetland Scene
A vanishing one though with depleting water levels. An old photo with painted storks, eurasian spoonbills, a grey heron, black-winged stilts & a red-rumped swallow streaking across. Colonising
On my way home from Loch of the Lowes I often take a back road, stopping to overlook a field that now seems to have a permanent pool in it. Over the years it has attracted a number of species and that day there were Canada Geese, Oystercatchers, Mallard and Lapwing.- delia todd
