As I watched the sun appear yesterday morning, I realised I was not alone; to my left, on the edge of a frost covered landscape, sat quietly, was this Pheasant, bathed in the first rays of the day, staring in the very same direction as myself... (only difference was, he didnt have a camera! lol)...
I produced this image to illustrate why we get total solar eclipses. The apparent diameter of the moon is equal to that of the sun, I used the same photographic equipment for both images, so the scale is the same.
The spots on the sun are sunspots.
