    Kingfisher II

Another from my recent trip to Rye Meads
  2. Kingfisher

    Kingfisher

First visit to Rye Meads last week and spent a few hours in the kingfisher hide as the parents brought food back and forth to the burrow (assumed they have fledged now), shame the closest perches were being visited after leaving and not with fish on the way in
  3. Common Kingfisher

    Common Kingfisher

Probably one of the best openings of a year: this Kingfisher just around the corner of my house! The bird stayed for several days, giving me the opportunity to photograph it in the last light of day, hence the full colors. Hope you like it! Luc
  4. Another Kingfisher....

    Another Kingfisher....

Well it's actually the same kingfisher but still another picture of it. It took me quite some effort to "create" and find my own kingfisher spot. But now I've found one I will probably bore you guys to dead with lot's of pictures from this beautiful bird... Greetings, Jeroen

1st of the day that was

still thinking about nicer days than today, this was the very 1st shot of a KF on my last visit to Lackford, early morning lack of light and higher than usual iso, any how that was the bird that kept torpid dormouse and I in the hide for several hours

    Same bird different perch?

Another of the opportunities presented to me today, I must admit to being a bit numb after that epic stay
  9. Kingfisher

    Kingfisher

A worthwhile 7 hours in the Reed Hide at Lackford Lakes produced some nice KF opportunities
  10. Squirty

    Squirty

Not sure what bug this KF just retrieved from the pond but it seems that its being relieved of any excess fluid. Hard work today with the sun in the wrong place for the time I was in the hide

Kingfisher (a bit of a struggle)

Really low light into a setting sun at nearly 3000mm. Everything against me but still pretty happy with the result.

    Kingfisher

One of its favourite perches at the sluice gates on the North Wall. (S)he kept fishing from this rail but wouldn't turn round for a front view
  25. Kingfisher

    Kingfisher

I spent about 3 hours shooting this female and its male companion. It was very nice, but I was hidden and with the feet inside water. Although with rubber boots, my feet were purple from the cold when I got home.
