Hope they set up a watch point again at Blacktoft would be your best hope I'd say

    Norfolk birding

Had 40 or so there a couple weeks back, they'll be there no doubt!

    Gyrfalcon

Looks quite thin from your image would think that's its likely a hybrid Saker type. Nice bird though

    Honduras Hummingbird Sp

Unsure on this Coquette, with limited literature I can't quite work out what this hummer is. Is it just a worn Black Crested Coquette or Rufous? Many thanks!

    Norfolk birding

Hasn't the best place to see them (from personal experience) been the back of the feeders and surrounding trees there? Or is that later on in the year, I can never remember

    Norwich Birding

Managed to avoid the showers and see it (on the day). A Med Gull in its place the next day too

    Norfolk birding

Nout on twitter so can only assume it's either a mistake (male hen) or there's actually a male pallid hanging around! I'd prefer the latter!

    Norfolk birding

Moving back to birds... What's the story with the male Pallid Harrier, assume it'll rock up at the Warham roost eventually?

    Norfolk birding

Believe it or not I don't like the attention. I just react (often too quickly) too subjects which often back fire on me and land myself in more trouble than I intended. The Phoebe comment was always intentionally a joke, can't judge a person for sticking the neck out and calling a Phoebe in the...

    Norfolk birding

I was actually referring to the record first reported round the feeders rather than your record by the river. But unsurprisingly you'd perk up! I couldn't care less about what you say to me, or say about me. That's the thing. It's not that I relish any of your comments its that I don't care...

    Norfolk birding

UEA seem to be the site for them a couple years ago, besides an unreliable report early this year they're pretty much non existent in the county this year. Crossbill much the same though the latter species is a little easier now.

    Norfolk birding

I imagine it was probably the latter option for the reasoning. Seeing some of the damage that was done to the various sites in Sussex when it visited it's not too much of a surprise that it was suppressed. Frustrating for those who would have liked to of seen the bird and I'm sure with some...

    Norfolk birding

It'll be predicted as being something really bad then they'll get it wrong and it'll fizzle out.

Ring Necked Parakeet on Dereham Road today (found by a friend)

    Norfolk birding

I didn't mean it so rudely just stating it has been there a while. And Johny, I'd love for you to make these comments to me in the field. I don't think you've once attempted to talk to me? But happy to chat nonsense online. All the best

    Norfolk birding

    Its been there weeks.

    Kevin

Wouldn't quite see Norfolk as the place to ask, but you can easily spend few days in central park and see a multitude of species.

    Norfolk Dragon/Damselflies reports/news

Hi Stew when we found them, they favoured the NW corner near the stone wall which juts out into the pond. At least 5 when we there, but this was 3 weeks ago.

    Norfolk birding

As its a pair in suitable habitat is perhaps best not to disclose location? Given the ability to see this species so easily at designated sites elsewhere.

    Norfolk Butterflies and Moths

Nice surprise in the form of White Letter Hairstreak at uni today. My first record on campus and not sure many have been recorded! Large numbers of Purple Hairstreak also out
