Distribution
Indonesia; found in Java and Bali.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Lowland swamp and montane forests. Occurs at heights up to 1850 m.
Behaviour
They normally hang upside down while roosting.
Diet
The diet consists of fruit, nectar, buds, flowers and seeds.
Breeding
The nest in a hollow tree, often utilising old barbet nest holes. The nest is lined with pieces of bark, leaves and other plant material. The clutch consists of 2 eggs, which are incubated by the female.
