Overview
Bradford on Avon. Approx 30 hectares with Kennet and Avon Canal to south, river Biss to east and river Avon to north, Widbrook and pasture to west.
Mature oak, ash, alder and willow; plantation area a wide variety of seed bearing shrubs and trees (planting started 1997 and completed in 2000). River and Canal- plenty of reeds and extensive reed beds to north of Avon.
Birds
Notable Species
Kingfisher, Meadow Pipit, Wheatear, Water Rail, Cormorant, Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe, Shelduck, Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.
Also to be seen are various Warblers, Woodpeckers, Tits, Buntings, Geese, and there is a Herony in Great Wood, north of Avon.
