Distribution

Kai islands, Indonesia: Kai Kecil, Kai Besar and Baer.

Taxonomy

Formerly placed in genus Monarcha.

Habitat

Lowland primary and secondary forests, coastal monsoon forest, mangroves and hill forest, up to 625 m., and woodland on the edges of cultivation.
