Identification
30.5 cm. Dark brown head and upperparts, dark blue grey underparts and flanks, pale green large, thick bill, yellow legs becoming more olive at the rear.
Distribution
Talaud Islands in the Moluccas (Indonesia).
Taxonomy
Formerly placed within Plain Bush-hen, (A. olivacea) and retained there by some authors. Reference [1] suggests that voice is more or less identical and plumage very similar to the slightly smaller nominate form of the latter from the Philippines.
Subspecies
A monotypic species.
Habitat
Forest, scrub, and overgrown plantations.
