Taxonomy
Until recently this species was considered a part of Mangrove Blue Flycatcher. Some authorities do not agree with the split.
Subspecies
Clements recognizes four subspecies[1].
- C. o. omissus:
- Sulawesi
- C. o. omississimus:
- Togian Islands (off of northeastern Sulawesi)
- C. o. peromissus:
- Salayar Island (Flores Sea)
- C. o. djampeanus:
- Tanahjampea Island (Flores Sea)
Habitat
Lowland moist forests and montanes.
