Africa:
Western Africa: Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola
Eastern Africa: Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi
Southern Africa: Zimbabwe, South Africa

Taxonomy

Subspecies^[1]

There are 3 subspecies:

• H. a. slatini:

• Western Cameroon; winters to north-eastern Zaire to western Uganda and western Kenya

• H. a. inornata:

• Angola to southern Zaire (Shaba), Zambia, Malawi and northern Mozambique

• H. a. australis:

• Zimbabwe and Mozambique

Habitat

Dry forests and savannas.
